Meeting Helen and Chris before their wedding day was such a joy! With their October celebration just around the corner, this engagement session in the heart of the New Forest felt like the perfect way to slow down, connect, and capture their love story in a peaceful and natural setting.
We met at Blackwater Arboretum, a hidden gem tucked away in the New Forest – and what a place it is. Surrounded by tall trees from all around the world, we wandered through shaded paths and golden clearings that made it feel like a little fairytale forest.
The light filtering through the leaves, the sound of crunching autumn leaves underfoot, and the stillness of the woods created the dreamiest backdrop for their photos.
Helen and Chris were a little nervous to begin with (as most people are!), but those nerves didn’t last long. With some gentle guidance and a few laughs, they quickly relaxed into the moment. That’s one of the reasons I love engagement sessions so much. They give us the chance to get to know each other and help you feel more confident and comfortable in front of my camera.
I absolutely can’t wait to see them again in October, this time as bride and groom!
